Ep 040 – Is Your Lead Magnet Attracting Clients?

A few months ago I was helping a client increase the number of consultations she was getting (and therefore individual coaching clients she was signing).

At that part of the process, we were focusing on her lead magnet.

We changed her lead magnet and saw a 68% increase in new subscribers every month.

It wasn’t too surprising that her consultations jumped 2.5x and her revenue skyrocketed 219%.

It is extremely important to get your lead magnet working well for you.

It can also pay off to make more minor changes.

I recently changed the format of my own lead magnet which resulted in a 23% increase in new subscribers every month and a step change increase in consultations.

But, it’s not just about the quantity of people coming through your door.

Your lead magnet is often the first impression your potential clients have of you.

And, it shows them the type of results you can deliver.

Best of all, your lead magnet perfectly sets up your potential client to be ready to buy your coaching packages.

How do you go about creating your lead magnet or making sure that your current one is working for you?

Key Factors for an Effective Lead Magnet

Address One Small Challenge

Focus on a specific problem your ideal client faces. It could be something like a morning routine that energizes a busy parent. Keep it simple and manageable, aiming for something they can achieve in less than 10 minutes.

Speak Their Language

Use the language your audience uses and frame their problem as they see it. Show empathy by drawing from your experiences before you overcame similar challenges.

Clearly Show Benefits And Purpose

Demonstrating your ability to solve a specific issue lays the groundwork for them to see the potential in working with you. If they see what you can do for free, they’ll imagine greater results from a paid service.

Crafting Your Lead Magnet

Identify Key Problems

Write down the three biggest issues your ideal client faces, what they desire most, and their fears.

Narrow Down Ideas

Out of the problems listed, choose three that you can address quickly and easily.

Lastly, choose the one that you like the best!

Ensure it delivers a quick win and can be delivered electronically.

Select a Format

Decide whether your lead magnet will be an ebook, mini-course, PDF, workshop, email series, or video.

Name Your Lead Magnet

Use clear, enticing titles that immediately convey the problem solved or the desired outcome. Incorporate numbers to make it seem simple and achievable.

Remember, done is better than perfect. Start with a basic version, use handy tools like Canva, and focus on getting it out there. You can always improve it later.

Final Steps

To deliver your lead magnet, use email marketing software to create an opt-in page and set up automatic delivery. This process frees you from manual involvement and allows you to focus on engaging with your new leads.

By following these steps, you’ll craft a lead magnet that not only attracts your ideal clients but also sets the stage for future business opportunities. Ready to get started? Simply schedule a free Mini Session below for personalized guidance.
